Council Service Center
The Service Center in Homewood, Illinois is the base for staff and for office support such as membership and event registration, books and other loan resources, training and meetings for volunteers, and the Shop.
Our Shop has membership insignia, badges and other earned awards, special event patches, Girl Scout song CDs, gifts and more. We do not sell uniforms or handbooks. Those items are available at local Girl Scout Equipment Agencies (contact us for locations).

Promise and Law
The Girl Scout Promise and Law are the foundations of Girl Scouting.
The
Girl Scout Promise
On my honor, I will try:
To serve God and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law
The
Girl Scout Law
I will do my best to be:
honest and fair,
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong,
and responsible for what I say and do,
and to respect myself and others,
respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place,
and be a sister to every Girl Scout.

Programs and Events
Girl Scout troops meet in schools, homes or other locations,
once a week, once or twice a month, or at other times convenient for the girls and their leaders. Sometimes Girl Scout groups are formed with
girls of different ages, and may meet on a short-term schedule, with a
particular interest in mind.
Girl Scouting in the School Day is offered in a number of
schools throughout the council. These are staff-directed programs carried out during or just after school hours.
Many kinds of activities are developed each year, designed
to be fun and informative. Our Girl Scouts enjoy a variety of events that highlight fun with science, personal expression through the arts, fashion and fitness, trips to Chicago area zoos, museums,
theaters, sports venues, and so on.
Check the Calendar of Events page for a
schedule of coming activities. Keep in mind that registration deadlines are
usually several weeks before events are held, so contact the Council Service
Center for specific details and dates.
